One of the courses that I’m currently studying is called Advanced C++ for Games II, where we are currently working with GDI for rendering of simple programs that will eventually develop into a racing game. After several days of hard work I have what could be viewed as the final product of the second assignment. Since the dead line still is in a week from now, I can imagine that there will be some tweaking until hand in. This is what it looks like now, at least. Two weeks ago we received our first proper writing assignment in the game analysis course. We were to hand in an essay on a game concept with the theme “Impending Doom”.
This is how the assignment was explained to us:
Our essay had to include descriptions of gameplay and setting.
We had to explain our design decisions and why we thought those were the best.
The essay should focus on gameplay and how the sense of impeding doom was conveyed, not narrative or background.
