Oops

I really need to learn to update this more often.
Especially given that this blog might be very important if I pass or fail a course.
And I haven’t updated it for… A month? I’m worse at this than I thought.

3D I, Week 7, Part 2: Assignment 3 Progress

Today in class we started work on modeling our Assignment 3 characters. This is a quick blog post on the progress I made during the lesson.

During class today, I modeled out most of my character’s body, with a torso, arms and legs. Right now the model itself only consists of the left half of his body, which is mirrored on the right side to create a full body.
I’ve split up the upper and lower body of the model […]

3D I, Week 7, Part 1: Self-evaluation

This week in 3D we had a lecture on human anatomy and musculature to prepare for character modeling. At the end of the lecture, we sat down in groups and evaluated each other’s strengths and weaknesses in anatomy.
This blog post is a reflection on my 2D art skills.

I’m heavily influenced by animation and comics, and I usually draw character art. I studied animation in high school, and one particular skill I consciously try to develop is effective use of […]

Anatomy

As we are starting to model characters in the 3D course this week, we have been going into anatomy for modelling. To see where we are at we were asked to bring 2D drawings of characters, human and animals, and to give each other feedback on where we need to improve.

I think that 2D is definitely my strong point compared to 3D since I have been doing it for so long, but there are definitely areas in which I […]

Group concept report.

Concept report.
Group project.
Last week we were given the task to design a game concept.
The game was supposed to be in 2d, no gravity, and according to a spaceshooter theme.
Each group were given two types words that we had to make use of in the game. In our case these two words where: fancy-pants and clueless.
Other than that we where free to design the game however we wanted.
Methodology.
Today was the first day since the last lecture that my group gathered […]

3D Computer Graphics I: Week 7 – Anatomy

For one of the first times during this course I had some past knowledge of the subject we addressed in class – anatomy. I took the Life Drawing class this summer which went a bit more in depth than our official 2D course in terms of the human body. The methods we used were theory, figure drawing and sculpting clay. It was great practice for me and I improved a lot. What I did not expect was how useful sculpting was […]

Assignment 3 Update:

Assignment 3 Update:

This is how far I was able to model on assignment 3 during the lesson. I have not really looked thorough everything for mistakes and weird stuff but I have the base of the body done. My model will be in several different pieces, this is because of the clothes that isn’t very shape fitted, it will be easier to make the torso and the coat one piece, the legs one piece and […]
