Persona 3 and Disney composition in After Effects – Motion Graphics

A couple of weeks has gone by since I wrote my latest blog post regarding the Motion Graphics course I’m taking alongside 3D2 and I thought I’d share some of the things I’ve done during time. The pace of this course has been extremely high with two comps a week and something entirely different to learn each time. I will share with you one comp from both week 3 and week 4 I’ve done for the hand-in assignment.

Week 3

The focus for week 3 was to create two compositions that makes use of track mattes, shape layers and blending modes. I chose to do a heavily inspired composition of the PS2 game “Persona 3″. Below is the final rendered version posted on youtube with sequential screenshots taken with KMPlayer.

Week 4

This week’s focus was on 3D layers, text and effects in AE. I took my inspiration from the “I’ve got friends on the other side” song by Dr Facilier in the Disney movie “The Princess and the Frog”. This composition was by far the most fun to do since I played a lot with many of the features After Effect has to offer.
