Week 3

Hello!

Now three weeks have gone since I started with programming and I feel like it really picking up now.

This week we went through classes and inheritance which was a completley new concept to me besides the little dipping in structs last week. While I immediately grasped and liked the use of structs as a way to structure your code and clump variables, classes were more confusing. They were similar to structs in that they were used in a way to structure variables and such, but they could also do so much more that I had a some headache when trying to figure them out. The instancing and duplication of objects were confusing to me as I didn’t understand how and when you could use or change variables sometimes.

In the end though I feel like I got to understand them resonably, even though I need to use them more  before I feel entirely comfortable to use them regularly, which I know that we are going to, so that’s my task at hand.

recap from last week since I forgot to post:

we went through pointers and functions, functions were familiar while pointers and their use was not.

I struggled somewhat with pointers but I feel somewhat okey with using them for basic functionality now.
