Thumbnails Assignment
|
The previous week was the start of the 2D Computer Graphics: Theory and Application 1 course, and one of our first assignments was to choose one out of two game concepts and create twenty character thumbnails fitting in with what we chose. I tried to keep myself within a 10-15 minutes time-frame for each sketch, with a few taking closer to 25 minutes after realising I wanted to take that particular thumbnail in another direction. The world setting I visualised was one where the mundane had mingled with the magical and supernatural, and thus shaped the people in it to be a mix of both. (Click on image to enlarge) The top rows are focused on exploring a possible protagonist, whereas the bottom rows play more with the protagonist’s party of adventurers and antagonists. Overall, this was an interesting task, and I’ll be continuing with developing the protagonist beyond these thumbnails over the following weeks. |
