Croquis with a model

Hello friends! The first week of my new course has passed! I am so pleased with how everything went so far. Our teacher Pernilla really knows how to handle beginners (like myself), and I already feel more confident in my drawings, after only one week! We started with Croquis with a nude model, which basically means that a male or female poses nude in front of the class, giving us 1 or 2 or 5 or even 8-10 minutes to draw the pose the model is using. The amount of minutes we have at our disposal is determined before the model takes his or hers stance. It is normal to start with around five 1 minute sessions, and then move up two four 2 minute sessions, two 3 minutes sessions etc. For our first assignment, we were supposed to take three of our most dynamic sketches from class and put them together in a .pdf to submit to the school site. Along with these sketches, we were also supposed to make 20 thumbnails of a future character we are going to make. I took the ”game” Clash of Titans, and when I was making my characters, I was thinking of the words
I instantly saw some kind of a hero, with armor and weapons. Thumbnails is just simple silhouettes, in a dark color, to show what the character might end up looking like. Here I choosed if I wanted a big and short character, skinny and tall, big and tall or skinny and short. I also experimented with different outfits and weapons. These thumbnails are going to be my tools when I am going to create a character in a couple of weeks. I will post a picture of the work I submitted to the school site, and also a video that sums up pretty much what we have done this week.
