Relationships and character making!

Good evening readers!

 spaceinvaders2

Tonight I finally finished my assignment about the game Space Invaders. What I did was to divide different concrete objects into three ”subcategories” which were:

Objects, properties and behaviors.

For an example, the player craft in the game is an object. The speed which the player craft possesses is a property. Finally, a behavior to this is movement. This is roughly what I did in my assignment, but with all the objects in the entire game. (Of course it is a very basic and simple game).

Finally I made a relationship grid where I connected the relation between the different objects. We are supposed to have a seminar tomorrow to discuss this further and finally hand in the assignment. What is a relation? You might ask. A relation is, simply put, what happens when this object and this object interferes. A more specific example, what happens when the player crafts bullet hit the enemy? The answer is that the enemy dies. We used the word destroy. The relationship between the player crafts bullet and the enemy is destruction.

The second assignment is to create a character sheet to a game called Dungeons & Dragons. We got divided into groups by six to play this boardgame, and decide a Game Master. This should preferebly be done by next week, so we can get together and play the game. I wouldn’t really call it an assignment, since we aren’t supposed to hand anything in and there isn’t really a deadline. I believe it is mostly for ourselves, to broaden our game perspective. It is really fun but oh my, so much details and rules to learn in a few days.

Have a nice evening ladies and gents!

Yours sincerely,

Adam
