Awarded! Finally

So the Swedish Game Awards ceremony went down at the 18th of June so here is the update!

After presenting our game, the station was crowded due to the exterior design of the game and a lot of noises coming from the gathered crowd, we were finally ready for the ceremony that would be held the day after. I was getting everything ready for the evening, chosen my outfit and checking with my brother if he was ready to be picked up.

Upon arriving we saw people standing outside the hall, the place was really crowded, we searched the place for my team and finally found them. This was of course an opportunity to get to know people so we started to walk around and saying hi!

We bumped on Anne a very delightful and encouraging woman from Wooga, Berlin. We talked about the game and if there was a future for it, she also told us that she was sent on a side quest to give some gifts for the teams she had chosen. And it appeared that we were going to sit at the same table!

So the evening went on, we where served a three course meal, and in between they announced the nominees and the winners (we were nominated once for graphics). We didn’t win anything yet, but there was two categories left, “Gamers Choice” and “Game of the year”. As they went for a pause before announcing Gamers Choice, i went for the toilet, i received a message from my brother telling me that they started announcing. So i rushed back to my seat, just in time. The started to describe the winner, everything was fitting our description, a smile was starting to show on my face! Was this it? Is this happening?

People were screaming, i started too look around just to make sure, and without knowing it my body moved on its own towards the scene, ive never felt this before.., what a feeling of accomplishment!

The game of the year award was given to guys from our school making the game Defunct, this was their second year project.

As to finish this post of! I hope that this will lead me to a whole new future!

And on top of winning gamers choice award we where also honoured with prices from Wooga. So big thanks to Anne and Wooga for choosing us!
