Last week I focused on completing assets, making sure they had the right material, normal maps etc. After that I was tasked.. since I’m the only girl.. to make the flowers (that was a joke, or at least I hope so). Well I don’t know a thing about flowers so I did some research and made three alpha flowers in Photoshop using texture brushes and fx’s as stroke and shadow. Not a lot of detail was needed as the final camera is so zoomed out. Here is the final version of the leafy clover like alpha brush: The end result in Unity was far better than I had expected. It adds to the “realistic” feel to add random elements for example to break the grass edge. I also put the white flower on the lower left side and the upper right side and the blue flowers on the lower right side and upper left side. This to divide the map into different parts to be able to easily orientate where you are. In the future we will make more assets to even further divide the map. This is the end results taken as a screenshot from unity, aka not the right camera angle but I wanted to show of.

Later in the week I worked on death animations. Actually I was only going to make it for the melee creep, forest creep and Snappy but I seemed to have a real talent for it so I ended up being tasked to do them all. Hence I was given the nickname Angel of death. I’ve even considered to make this my specialisation, as in almost every game someone dies..
