Big Game Project – Week 8
|
I’ve been working a lot with the tutorial this week. First of all I re-made the structure of the code to be slightly more bearable, although it’s still frustrating having to “hard-code” variables and strings so much. Since we need to guide the players with pointers we need to know exactly how it pans out, meaning that it needs to always be the same. We also had Beta testing this week, where we got a lot of feedback. We made a list of that feedback and rated it with different priorities, and then we checked it off as we worked. Since the game is almost finished it’s only small things left to change and add. It gets tedious in the long run but there’s definitely a notable difference in the game now compared to a week ago. All the placeholder art is gone and it’s starting to look really polished, I’m excited to show it off at GGC. We had a big “serious” talk this week as well, and everyone voiced their opinions on how things had worked out and how they felt about everything. It was quite nice to be able to just clear your mind from some frustration and hear how everyone else felt about things. Not that there had been any major problems in working together, but everyone has different opinions when it comes to things and after a while it piles up. Here’s a screenshot of a step in our tutorial.
Until next time! |
