I’ve been working even more on the terrain. I’ve started to fill up the higher part of the terrain with vegetation. The lower part is nearly done. I’ve said that I will fill up the whole terrain and then iterate on the places that need it rather than doing an area 100% perfect from the beginning. Just want the whole terrain done… The upper part is almost done; I have been placing trees, rocks, grass, textures and even height differences to make the environment more interesting. We also got a tutor to help us with the environment this weekend. Can’t wait for the feedback from him! We got pretty good feedback and suggestions. About the grass; how to make it look better he suggested we made our own detailed mesh for it. It will be implemented if we got the time. Our water in the scene is fixed with our new asset Tasharen water! We also got a new shader – advanced foliage shader which gives us touchbending and moving trees if we use vertex painting. Overall the rest of the week has consisted in changing all the normal maps for all my models due to the new shader. Vertex painting all my models to make the branches and bushes move with the wind and of course some iteration on the terrain. New added settings for the beta * Fog * Edge definition * Sun shafts * Realtime shadows
