Don’t be good, be great – Jay Z
While listening to one of our worlds greatest hip-hoppers, Jay Z, song F.U.T.W. I’ve got the feeling of not being satisfied. Wanting more and more. I don’t settle to be good at something, I wan’t to be great. I wan’t to reach the big stage, and I want to be there now.
Tomorrow we’ll have our presentation of the ALPHA for our game Suit ‘em Up. This means that we will talk about our game and what we have accomplished so far. As it’s our first real presentation of the game it contains the questions on why, what and how we are making it. Feeling that our lead designer and also programmer have very much to do
code wise I have stepped up and took responsibility for it. I feel like it’s a natural thing for me to do not only because I’m the producer but also because I want to be in the top. This is something someone else is going to see, something that someone will judge and determine from. It’s the big stage.
As our game is progressing in a good and fast pace I must say that I’m really proud of what my team has accomplished so far. Even though we are lacking in our mindset of this being a company and that we are doing a company game. Everyone get’s their job done, not on time though but still the game is progressing. As it is now we are laying almost one week ahead of time and our game oozes potential, making it a possible profitable game. What I want to do with this game is to develop it further and give it out on mobile platform. I haven’t reached out to the other guys with this idea but I hope I will. At least by the end of this course which is due in five weeks from now.
So coming back to the great song, F.U.T.W, made by Jay Z, I cannot but help it that I’m feeling one with it. Here we have a good first year game that oozes of potential. A team that is good at what they are doing, despite lack of motivation some times. And me. A mindset that don’t want this project to be just a regular hand in. A project that isn’t just another good first year project. I don’t want it to be good. I wan”t it to be great.
Hopefully I get my team around and we’ll make a great game!
