Pre-alpha

I would have done a blog post when i got home last night but it was past eleven so i figured i’d do it today.

Yesterday we had a seminar about genus through history on which i did coding and wrote my weekly blog post, during the afternoon i has second thoughts about going to the worskshop but in the end i did it anyways, might as well as Leo couldn’t make it to school until right after it ended. We spent the evening adjusting the fixing the hiding functionality, the player’s shadows, adding a guard which rotated depending on the player’s position, and attempting to get collision to work properly. We succeed in it all except the collision.

Today we showed our pre-alpha to Marcus and while it was working there was as he said “no gameplay mechanics”. I also realized that we are supposed to have the game playtested this Monday so right now the priority is to have something playable and testable. After this we all read through our current game design document together and gave our individual feedback, i think it’s coming along nicely.

Today Leo was gone and said he’d do his work during the evening(collision) while me and Bolt talked on Skype about what we needed on Monday. In the end we decided that i should work on drawing a level while he made the Guard’s AI. A simple version of the AI without any advanced pathfiinding since we don’t have things like walls and collision yet. I looked into Level class and found out how it worked, i managed to understand it and will be able to draw out a level tomorrow. I didn’t get a lot of work done today but i did get to go through my report of the Programming 1 assignment and turn it in. I just hope it’s Academical enough now.
