Sketch Dump 6
|
Working on ‘Volver and not sketching as much as I otherwise would have made me somewhat less interested in digital work once I was done with ‘Volver. So I have begun spending about one or three hours each day with my sketchbook again. Most of what I have in my sketchbooks are anatomy studies but most of them aren’t that interesting when compared to my main focus right now, which is stylization. I’m aiming to refine and adapt a style that is similar to Mike Henry’s style or the style of Wildstar where the anatomy kind of defies my traditional understanding of anatomy. These sketches in particular are from an earlier sketchbook that I just recently filled four days ago. You can sort of notice that I already began to stylize here but the end result is not necessarily what I aimed for. These come from my current sketchbook which is already half-filled. I can notice that I lack in making “symmetrical” portraits whenever I horizontally flip the portraits. But I feel like my grasp of a more stylized full-body anatomy is improving. The difficult thing for me is figuring out just how to twist the proportions properly to keep it simplified and stylized and anatomically correct at the same time.Peace out, ducklings! Oh, and you should probably check out Sinfest. |
