My Bella Character Concept & First Digital Drawing

I picked my Asian version of Bella because I got a clear impression of her personality and could easily apply a story to her.

I put her in a dynamic pose because I felt that it would portray her personality the best way possible. When I made this drawing I put a lot of attention on weight, angles and the movement itself. I put a lot of effort into drawing the hands and feet, since I’ve never really done it before. Not in this way. What helped me on the way was reminding myself that except at the joints, the fingers are supposed to be straight and not bendable. It made them feel less sausage-like. The face was very fast to make thanks to the helpful guide lines that we’ve been taught in class this week.

This is my first true digital drawing and I feel happy with the results. It took me about 6-8 hours to make.
