Gamex!!!
|
These few days have been really fun, at this Gamex a lot of my fellow classmates and friends displayed their games. I’ll redirect you to their corresponding page : ) King of the Thrill –kingofthethrillgame.tumblr.com CoBots (This one you can BUY for a really cheap price, DO IT!) – http://www.cobotsgame.com/ I feel privileged to be surrounded by so much talent and I can’t wait for the next Gamex where I hopefully could display something of my own! A girl can dream 😀 Moving on to the games that I played during these 4 days. My first experience with Gamex was that people were really excited to get in. When they pushed through one single door it actually burst, metal flew out into the crowd and I was happy I wasn’t hit. Another thing was a couple of guys discussing their “battle plans”: After I entered the halls, I was a bit overwhelmed but I had decided earlier to go and check on my friends first before I did something else. Of course always on the lookout for free stuff as well… As a side-note, I went into this game show with the mission to play every game available this is what drove me the first day. I was led by music to the game Just Dance 2014 and I was watching, thinking that I would like to play with friends but they were all working. So I chickened out when they asked me if I wanted to dance. However, a girl in front of me said she wanted to play and I thought that because she was alone I might as well play with her. We started talking and we played Just Dance together to the song “I will Survive”. Now I had some company so I decided to show her the games that my fellow students had made which she enjoyed. I played this game a total of 4 times. I think it is a very enjoyable game when you stand on a big stage and have a big display. I like to dance, especially with friends, which made this a game that I enjoyed very much. I also have plenty of embarrassing movies as well with me dancing 😀 Some of the games I played where games that you want to start in the beginning and not in the middle of the game as some of them were. Some examples are Assassin’s Creed Black Flag, Beyond Two Souls and Final Fantasy XIII/3: Lightning returns. I haven’t played Assassin’s Creed before so I was really a beginner but I liked how you played and it made me want to try the other games in the series. I would have followed better what I should do if I did not have a timer ticking right in front of me showing how much time I had left. All I ended up doing was running around and opening some treasure chests and fighting an occasional enemy. Beyond Two Souls was really confusing, I had trouble with the camera which is because of the fact that I don’t play that much on the console. At least I haven’t in a while and maybe it was because I had to stand really close to the screen but I felt noxious. Because it is a game that you really have to play from the beginning… I was clueless. It seemed really interesting though. Final Fantasy is a series I do enjoy, however I haven’t played much of it after FFX that I have on my playstation 2 and that is simply because I didn’t upgrade to another console. Also this is a game where I feel as though you have to play from the beginning to understand it fully because it’s really confusing to just start playing. A game that I enjoyed for no apparent reason was Hohokum where I had no idea how to play it but it was so much fun just flying around with my avatar and effect the environment. I am unsure if there are a goal in the game but I felt as if I changed the game world according to my actions. If you didn’t try it, you missed something. During that same session I also played Contrast where you can change in and out of shadows. Getting past the challenges that appear when you can’t reach a place in one mode but have to change into a shadow mode made the game interesting. Secrets of Grindea(http://www.secretsofgrindea.com)… It gave me such feelings of nostalgia that I almost cried. It reminded me of the days I spent playing Secrets Of Mana on the Snes. I was ready to buy it then and there but they are still working on it. The grinding possibilities in that game are endless and I could have sat there all day grinding and increasing my level. The names of some of the characters were hilarious which made the experience even better. Can’t wait for it to come out 🙂 I also tried World of Tanks on the Xbox, but as I mentioned before I suck at xbox controls. But it was really BAD! I enjoy WoT so much on the PC and I had high hopes for it before I even had started playing. IT was BAD! I didn’t feel as though I was in much control at all. Another thing when I played WoT was that when people were watching I felt as though I had something to prove. I kept thinking “Don’t suck at this, prove that girls can play these games too!” which was really something that annoys me. I shouldn’t have to think like that, can’t I just be someone that tries a game and does not become master of it in 1 minute. That is completely fine but just because I am a girl I think I have to prove myself as a gamer. (A big discussion that I won’t dive into, it was just an observation) At the Massive booth I actually talked to their recruiter about internships and it was really interesting to listen to what they had to say. Usually, I have a pretty hard time speaking and asking questions to strangers but I challenged myself and I feel really proud about that. After talking to them I moved in line to watch The Division, it was too bad that you couldn’t play it but I think that it is a game that I can play a lot. I enjoy shooter games and I want to become good at them. But I was greatly affected by the boys in my class in middle school and I wasn’t allowed to play with them just because I was a girl. Of all the presentations, I managed to get around seeing 2. (I didn’t have a clue where the big stage was until the second day). I watched Dragon Age: Inquisition and Murdered: Soul Suspects. I would gladly recommend that you take a look at both of them! Whenever I go to an exhibition of any kind I am a sucker for free stuff. I collect it like crazy. Do I need it? NO! but I WANT it anyway! 😀 So I left Gamex with some pretty neat stuff. I have a lot more to say but I think I should stop now because it’s too long. So to summarize these past few days. |
