Advanced game design week 43

This week we had a meeting with Marcus, where we got some more feedback.

The feedback we got:

  • Add another mechanic to make the game more dynamic.
  • Make obstacles larger than one tile. As they didn’t hinder the play because they could move diagonally.
  • He also gave us the idea that board could be flooded by water to stress the players more, as they had to hurry before the board was completely flooded.

I got the task to make the game pieces for the 2nd play testing. I made the pieces out of strong paper; I wanted to make it into different shapes but realized quickly that that wouldn’t work as they would have been hard to move. Instead I made them all into squares and added different patterns on them to make them different from each other. The game pieces is something I could have done better if I’ve had put more time and effort in to them.
