Game Testing Day!
|
We spent today with other groups from the course and helped test each other’s board games. We then gave each other feedback on them and generally discussed a lot of interesting suggestions for the games. We had at least three different groups play our game and give us feedback on it. Most people that played it agreed that our movement system was a solid and fun core base for the game. Unfortunately we still hadn’t gotten much further than that, so what people tested was basically just the movement system. We had some rooms on the board where they could search for items, but the items plays no role in the game yet. Some suggestions were things we hadn’t thought of before, like item cards (or whatever we’ll call them) that would swap positions of the user and his target. We already have some thoughts on different effects for the cards, so it will be fun trying them out on our core system. We also tried other people’s games and gave feedback. Most of them were a bit more ahead in the design, but had other problems with their components or in the design itself. Not saying that our games is completely solid, but I think that we have a very good base to start out from, seeing as people somewhat enjoyed playing it already at this stage. We’re continuing tomorrow to discuss the feedback we got, and how to implement it in the game, as well as continue the building and iterations of our design. |
