Game Ideas: Misery Continued?

I’m very sorry for my… absence to write this more detailed plan of the game, but I haven’t been able to focus on it for the last couple of days. I’ve been busy building a game about corporate take-overs and plot twists, all in a spectacular 1 man board game. It’s a very interesting game and I hope for it to go well, progression is key and the prototype turned out great though.

Back to Mistreated Misery, Where I am stuck atm is how to build up a progression of fun events that put the player into 3 different “main” roles in the game. a bully, a passive “Go with the flow” person and a Vigilante standing up for the ones being attacked by evil bullies and how to make all those 3 roles be recognizable in events.

The game will need to use the illusion of choice alot, creating a sort of braid that the players will walk through, because schools usually go from one day to another and everything won’t change just because you are being a bully or a vigilante but some choices still need to make impact and allow your character to act out how they are feeling and how they are as a person.

The problem is that if you create an event (Like Elsies attack) and the player is on the Elsies good side it doesn’t work (Could work with just adding a person with a “bully” value that are bullying you right now but I’ll have to go through that when I have a bit more energy.

So to wrap it up, I’m stuck and I most likely need to start working with school projects in the coming weeks. But don’t fear, the long system design posts will continue!
